Default Shipping Cost Differences are HUGE between Vendor

I had a buyer order from two different vendors, which is fine. I'm not knocking any particular vendor here as each has their own advantages vs disadvantages, but take a look at this:

Vendor 1: Senze Massage Candle: Blissful 150 mL
Actual Shipping Cost: $5.05

Vendor 2: Dr. Love Lubricant - 50 mL bottle
Actual Shipping Cost: $7.60

HUGE difference, and for what? 50 mL is like 1.6 ounces... but cost $2.55 more to ship than a 150mL candle? Never mind the fact that there's no way it should cost that much to ship, period.

I know I don't "have" to advertise their product and then I can avoid shipping with them entirely, but I would like to. However, nobody wants to feel like they are getting gouged on shipping... Does anyone here exclude from using certain vendors because of this?

(I'm aware that STC has no control over how each vendor ships, what they charge, etc. Just wanted other peoples viewpoint and experience)

Default No real answer ..

I've sent the same item to the same state from the same vendor using USPS Proirity and had a $1.50 difference in pricing .... so I would say that some of that is the person packing the item and what box they choose

There are other variables that are in there like UPS verse USPS verse FedEX ....

But I do agree that some vendors just seem to always be a bit more pricey on their Shipping, so I only use them as a last resort (item goes out of stock with my primary choice vendor and I need to fill the order) knowing that I'm going to be paying more ...

Thank you Dan O for your input! Looks like I'll be doing the same.
