Default The "Add to cart" button...

I'm going to make a request for this but I wanted to see if anyone else agreed that the "add to cart" button is plain and boring. I was reading an article on how Amazon.com spent 1000's on trying to find the "perfect" button that people clicked most when making a purchase decision. There button really does make me want to click it!!! I'm so excited about this button that I made one up on photoshop myself and wanted to offer it to anyone who wants it.

Also if anyone needs some killer photoshop work done PM me

Thank you, I checked it out and I like how you streamlined your site.
Did you use the "css override" to change your "add to cart button" ?
I know this is the code where the button is located, and was wondering if I could overwrite this?
<div id="addToCartContainer">
<div id="shoppingCartIcon"><img src="/images/cart-white.gif"></div>
<div id="addToCartButton">Add to Cart</div>

Thank you,

Heather

Thanks, I tried to do what I could with the site. My favorite parts (functionality wise) are my lightbox image zoom and the ability for me to add items to the side navigation even though they aren't custom
categories.

The below css code (I used external css file, but css override should work) customizes multiple add to cart buttons throughout the website. I noticed that there were a bunch of different ones on the website.

HTML Code:
	#addToCartContainer{/*large button on product page*/
		height:48px;
		background:url(http://domain/images/addtocart.png) no-repeat;
	}

	#addToCartContainer #addToCartButton,
	#addToCartContainer #shoppingCartIcon
	{display:none;}

	.addTfoCartContainer{/*add to cart button when viewing by vendor*/
		height:28px;
		width:111px;
		padding:0px;
		margin:0;
		background:url(http://domain/images/addtocartsm.png) no-repeat;
		cursor:pointer;
	}

	.prod_info_vendor_add_to_cart{
		height:28px;
		width:77px;
		padding:6px 2px 0 7px;
		margin:0;
		background:url(http://domain/images/addtocartsm.png) no-repeat;
		cursor:pointer;
	}

Hello Imvain2,

It worked thank you! But on the home pages the "add to cart" hasn't changed. Any idea on how to make my button appear on the home page?

Thank you!!!

Heather

I don't use the default home page layout, however below is the css that is used to control the home page add to cart button.

HTML Code:
.addToCartContainer{ margin:0px 0px; width:100px; height:24px; padding:0; background-color:#B83D33; display:block; cursor:pointer;}
.addToCartButton{ color:#FFFFFF; font-weight:bold; padding:4px 0 0 16px; float:left; font-size:11px;}
.addToCartContainer:hover .addToCartButton{ color:#DDDDDD; }

Thank you Imvain2, I really appreciate it! I'm looking at this code and wondering where I put the url to the "add to cart" button. And this goes in the CSS override?

.addToCartContainer{
margin:0px 0px;
width:100px;
height:24px;
padding:0;
background-color:#B83D33;
display:block;
cursorointer;}
.addToCartButton{ color:#FFFFFF; font-weight:bold; padding:4px 0 0 16px; float:left; font-size:11px;}
.addToCartContainer:hover .addToCartButton{ color:#DDDDDD; }

Thank you

I actually got it to work, however I couldn't hide the "add to cart" text that was on top of my button. Oh well.

Hi IMVAIN2, I used your code on my site - www.best-sex-toy-store.com and 2 of 3 buttons working great. But this "add to cart button when viewing by vendor" has not changed. I don't understend where is the problem. Can you check the code for any bug?
