Default Shameless Self Promotion

Hey guys I don't know if this really counts as a "tool you can use" and I hope nobody gets mad at me for posting it, but I stumbled across this sort of pyramid scheme idea at getting a large amount of targetless traffic.

Pretty much you look at 6 people's websites and then this website allows you to create your own link for other people to look at your site. The more people that look the more traffic you get. I imagine the conversion rate on something like this is pretty low, but it's already made a bunch of traffic and about 3 orders for me so far - from what I can judge.

I doubt it has any SEO effect at all, but it's gotten me a lot of traffic and a few orders for something that took about 5 minutes to do.

Here's a link to the site with my link on it: REMOVED

Hope my shameless self promotion doesn't bother anybody - it might help you!

the only people who ever make money off pyramids are the people who start them. Even if you do get traffic, I doubt it would convert.

I have had instances where I got literally 10K hits a day from sites show "free nude pics" . . . guess what the conversion rate was? ZERO!

You want to focus on getting quality traffic. My best advice for that is here:

Interesting idea, but that program just generates totally randomized traffic. Any conversions that you might get will be mostly due to luck...primarily because your "visitors" will have no real interest in your site and/or products.

Also, check out that site's usage terms, which is most likely more self-protective than anything else...

You may not use The 6 Links to promote any site related to adult content, pornography, spyware, adware, hacking, illegal activities, hate-related sites, or any other website that is considered offensive to the general public. Doing so will result in immediate termination of your The 6 Links membership, and you will be reported to the relevant Authorities in your Country of residence.
Such methods will usually get recognized by the search algorithms and get flagged as unethical. Just being connected to such a mechanism may possibly even get your site penalized by the various search engines. No harm intended by you I'm sure, but for those same reasons, your links (to that site) were removed from this thread.
