Default Credit Cards?

I'm just wondering how many of you accept credit cards for your home party business; or are you cash and carry only?

Credit cards seem like an obvious way to increase sales at parties, but are there difficulties with the processing companies because of "adult" products? I'm wondering if transaction fees and monthly charges will be too much of a hassle as I'm getting my business started.

I'd love to hear your input!

Default I use PayPal

We use PayPal Pro as the CC merchant on our website ... we then use the PayPal card swipe (called here ... same idea as the 'square" ... its just a triangle shape) on either the iphone or ipad when we are out at events / parties / etc ... since you are swiping the actual card the fees are just slightly less the the website transactions ...

With that said you of course need to adhere to the general PayPal rules ... most particularly any thing that can be construed as a Medication ... like the herbal Viagra / Spanish fly / etc should not be listed anywhere that they will be made aware of the item (read I may sell it at a party, but no way is it listed for sale on the website)

https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/credit-card-reader

and to answer your question ... cash is often what the customer prefers so there is no history of the purchase ... but we get just as many Checks and Credit Cards ... so in the end we feel it is worth doing it ... also even if the customer pays cash, you can use the PayPal Here app to generate a receipt that can be emailed right to the customer ...

Thanks!

I hadn't even thought of PayPal. I knew they were pretty strict on terms of use, and figured sex toys fell under that category.
